As many of you may know, Sunset Pavilion at Brasstown Valley is a picture perfect spot. However, it can also be very windy. I was so thankful this couple was willing to brave the cold January winds on their wedding day. (I don't think it got above freezing that day.)
Rain on your wedding day? They say it's good luck, but hard for great photos. This bride was literally sitting in the falling rain. (Her hubby was close by, ready to jump in with the umbrella.)
This sweet couple had it all! Their Spring Break wedding had the best of everything; rain, snow, and lots of snuggles.
What's the point to all this? You can't control every aspect of your wedding day, no matter how hard you try. Make sure you enjoy it. Sometimes the best shots come from unplanned moments where all the right elements simply come together.

The Retreat at Hiawasee River is located on the banks of (you guessed it) the Hiawassee River. Whether you're planning an outdoor wedding, or an indoor ceremony with a rustic feel, they've got you covered. Whichever ceremony location you choose, the setting is wonderful! Another bonus feature.. they have on-site cabins. So all your family that's traveling can conveniently stay on the property.
Here's a few of my favorite shots from a wedding there this past fall.
]]>
We started the day off right, tucked in the trees with the fall colors surrounding us. Juliette Chapel in Dahlonega made the perfect setting for their intimate ceremony. Next, the reception followed at 6140 Events in Cumming, GA.
A huge shot out to Kelsey with Events by Dezine who kept everything running perfectly smooth!
I also can't forget Sue with JB Jams who made sure they're wasn't a dull moment!

Everyone has a different opinion on first looks. Should the groom see you for the first time as you're walking down the aisle? Or should he see you before the ceremony in a moment for the two of you to share, embrace, giggle and calm each others nerves?
Regardless of when he sees you, its guaranteed to be magical.
Personally, I absolutely love first looks! They are one of my favorite parts of the day. This is when I capture images that quickly become some of my all time favorites.
Venue: The Barn at Young Harris
Catering: Epic Catering
]]>venue in Rockmart, GA. As soon as I arrived on the property, I was blown away by the landscaping and incredible setting. With the leaves displaying their vibrant colors, it was simply the icing on the cake!
Happy One Week Anniversary to this sweet couple!
They kept me on my toes and laughing all day. They certainly seemed to enjoy their wedding day and didn't let stress get in their way!!
I mean what groom is going to pass by the opportunity to fish on the morning of his wedding?!
There's nothing like a Grand Entrance!

Southern Charm in Cleveland, TN
Your guests can relax while and take it easy from these peaceful rocking chairs along the front porch area.
From your bridal suite, you have the perfect birds eye view of your ceremony site. You can overlook as your guests arrive. Following the ceremony, make your way to this awesome reception hall complete with the perfect barn doors!
]]>I absolutely love being able to photograph weddings, but I also love having the opportunity to mix things up a little. Seeing a couple get engaged is such a joyous moment. It's the beginning. Before the venue, flowers, and dress. I was so blessed to be able to capture this couples "beginning" at Brasstown Valley Resort this weekend.
]]>
Natasha and Caleb, I hope you had a wonderful wedding day! Everything was absolutely beautiful. My favorite part of the day was watching you guys laugh, giggle, and soak up every moment.

Howe Farms is nestled in Georgetown, TN, about 20 minutes from Cleveland, TN. This is another rare location that has two venues to showcase.
Let's start with The Vineyard.
The Vineyard has the capacity to accommodate up to 400 guests! My favorite part of this location in the ceremony site. Check this out!
Say "I Do" from this overlook with an incredible view and the cutest little chapel!
Location Number Two: The Apple Barn
On the backside of the property you will find The Apple Barn. It also has its very own outdoor ceremony site as well as this stunning indoor facility.

This couple decided on an intimate ceremony to incorporate their immediate family. I love it!
A little rain on your wedding day? (Or maybe a sudden downpour?) No worries! It's still the best day ever!

I had an action packed weekend, starting Saturday at Aska Farms with Graison and Kyle.
I could not get enough of this dress!
Mrs. Pamela Keith did another outstanding job with these flowers!

Part Two of Cloudland Station: Candlelight Ridge
Are you a bride who is looking for a chic/boho ceremony site? Do you picture yourself walking down the aisle barefoot? This is the place for you!
Although Candlelight Ridge is still under construction, they are already booking 2019 couples! The ceremony site offers a breathtaking view of Lookout Mountain. I can't wait to see everything once the landscaping is completed!
What an awesome place to entertain your guests during your reception! Truly unique.
This is the bridal suite. As you begin your morning with hair and makeup, you can overlook your ceremony site and the beautiful Lookout Mountain.

Shawn and Amber incorporated so many sentimental items into their decor. I just kept going back to this same view all day and snapping more images. I couldn't get enough of this entryway!
Stunning Bride!

I think it's safe to say that engagement season is upon us. So for all of those couples who may be getting engaged this Holiday Season, I have decided to do some posts featuring certain venues. Some of these venues are well known to a lot of couples. While others may be hidden gems just waiting to be discovered by a newly engaged couple. So let's have some fun with this...
Our First Venue to be featured will be in two parts. Cloudland Station in Chickamauga, GA has two lovely venues to host your wedding. Today, we will will highlight "The Homestead" at Cloudland Station.
The Homestead is a timeless venue in the middle of a vast nature preserve where you can incorporate a historic feel with modern conveniences.
Peacock Hall provides the backdrop for this location. This is also where your bridal party can begin their day with hair and makeup.
Ceremonies can either take place directly in front of Peacock Hall or across the way with this serene view of the lake.
Immediately next door is this historic barn that was originally built in Pennsylvania. It was then relocated piece by piece to its new home at Cloudland Station. This adds a unique twist to your reception.
I hope you have enjoyed this venue. Up next, we will look at the second part of Cloudland Station, Candlelight Ridge.

Brasstown Valley Resort always provides a beautiful backdrop.
Stop into the American Cowboy Store in Blairsville, GA. Check out all the great things they have to offer!
]]>
We couldn't resist Morganton Point on Lake Blue Ridge at sunset.
]]>
Are you in an elite hotel ballroom? In a field with a barn backdrop? What about a view so amazing, it takes your breath away?
This week I had the pleasure of touring "Grandview". Situated atop Lookout Mountain, adjacent to Rock City Gardens, the views are incredible.
This wedding venue offers on site catering, suites for both the bride and groom, and so much more!

Here's just a little peek into their wedding this past Saturday.
When your Momma is "more beautiful than Cinderella".
I just love when couples have their ceremony under the tree at The Barn at Young Harris. It's simply enchanting.

This engagement session was captured at the historic Barrington Hall and Roswell Mill in Roswell, GA.
Awesome covered bridge!

The Barn at Young Harris is one of my favorite venues to shoot. It always provides breathtaking mountain views for wedding ceremonies and this past weekend was no exception.
This view is an incredible place to exchange wedding vows!

Together with their family and friends, Jenny and Alan had their 50th wedding anniversary celebration at the beautiful Hackney Warehouse in downtown Murphy, NC.
I hope you enjoy this preview. I will admit, this is the first time I have had the pleasure to capture a couples "vow renewal". I'm known for being very tenderhearted and tearing up at some point during each wedding that I photograph. However, just watching this couple all evening, realizing that this is what can become of all the "newlyweds" that I photograph on so make occasions.. I stand in awe.
I just love this shot while they are holding their original wedding photo.
Jenny's wedding dress on display. What a neat idea!
Another beautiful cake by LaMuir.
Look at these two! 50 years and they still can't keep from grinning at each other!!

This couple wasn't going to let a plummet in temperature or rain get in the way of the perfect wedding day that they had anticipated for such a long time!
I'm so glad that they didn't, because their wedding was wonderful. The setting, so serene, made an awesome backdrop for Natalie and Lucas to begin their forever.
Handmade by Natalie's Grandfather.
As the night went on, we made sure to warm up next to the fire!
]]>
I cannot think of enough kind words to describe this sweet couple. They are so sincere, sweet and loving not only to each other, but to everyone they come in contact with.
Stunning!
These two were giggling all day! If they were stressed or nervous, it didn't show!
]]>
This sweet couple and their families traveled from Florida to have this amazing view as the backdrop for their wedding ceremony. All day, the clouds were heavy, and we feared rain. As everyone began to walk down the aisle, the sun began to beam down.
Congratulations Ashley and Jeff!

Sweet cuddles from Mommy are the best!

It was blistering cold, but this couple wasn't going to let that stand in their way of some amazing photos!

You have to start the day off right.. What better place than Equani Spa..
While the girls were at the Spa, this was going on back at the Barn.
Scrabble, anyone?
The ceremony..
The entire wedding watched as this storm approached across the mountain, easing closer and closer.
And then all of a sudden, the storm shifted and moved to the side, giving way for this amazing backdrop. It was so beautiful that everyone got up from their dinner and walked out on the field, snapping photos.
Congratulations, Katie and Cooper!!

Their "First Look"..

No longer the flower girl, but now the bride! What a gorgeous bride, indeed!!
Lauren is one of those people that laughs constantly. Her awesome personality simply radiates from within and spills over. No wonder Josh couldn't wait to have her for ever!
You simply could not keep her from laughing!! (a good problem to have) :)

Could these two be any sweeter?
An awesome full moon! What a great way to end the night!!

I love all the details in Jin Joo's attire, right down to the rows of pearls on the shoes!
Mr. and Mrs. Suk at last!

With some beautiful fall foliage, and a peaceful creek flowing nearby, Jenna and Chris exchanged their vows, and started their forever. Did I mention that Chris had the most handsome best man?! Greyson did a stellar job as Chris' best man!
I don't know if I've ever confessed this or not, but with ever wedding I photograph, there's always one moment that gets me. I take a breath and before I know it, I feel the tears coming on. It's always something different, something I don't expect. At the Mummaw wedding, it was watching as they poured their individual sands into the one container to symbolize their new union. However instead of two bottles of sand, there were three. One for Jenna, one for Chris, and one for Greyson. What a great way to symbolize their new family!
Following the ceremony, the guests relocated to the tent across the street for more fun and touching speeches, followed by lots of hugs and laughter. It truly was The Best Day Ever!

Michayla and Tyler's wedding day was fun filled, with perfect weather, and lots of laughter. Seeing the couple participate in the foot washing service was very humbling. Then, as the sun started to set in the peaceful little town of Blue Ridge, GA, it was off to the reception for more laughs, and a few tears as well when Tyler surprised Michayla with a song that he had written.
